2022 Summer Camps

A DIFFERENT DIMENSION ::: JUNE 13 - 17

Recommended for ages 4 - 10+ (all depending on your child's comfort level working in the midst of younger students).

Create a variety of relief art work using textiles, building blocks, paper, and other mixed media materials. Each day offers a different interpretation and subject choice while exploring these materials and creating sculptural art.

PLANTED IDEAS ::: JULY 25 - 29

Recommended for ages 8+ and/or for those who enjoy working on a smaller scale and/or are creating detailed drawings

Create a handmade, bound book that builds your visual vocabulary and represents your own unique style.

A detailed drawing (doodling + mark making too!) camp that stretches one's imagination by strengthening one's ability to make pictures without planning, shifts perceptions of one's original work and gives students more of an opportunity to recognize something can be created from "nothing".

Students will create a variety of work on paper using a variety of materials, make a hand bound book, complete at least 2 spreads in class and use our museum visit (on Thursday) to finish another.  At the end of camp, on Friday, we will close with a group discussion on identifying patterns and style.

The video above represents the process prior to creating spreads.

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION

With seven years of SUMMER CAMP at The Create Everyday Classroom, rituals have been created that returning students look forward to every year.  In addition to visiting the museum (on Thursdays),  there is silly walk day (view videos here), water balloon day (another video), balloons in the museum courtyard and popsicle day.

The Create Everyday Classroom Summer ART Camps are Monday through Friday, 9am - 1pm  Because of small class sizes, variations on lessons are easily provided when taking into consideration age, interest, and skill.

Each camp is $295 per week.  A non refundable $150 deposit secures your child's seat with a balance of $145 due the Monday of summer camp week.  Seat reservations may be made via apple pay, venmo or zelle.

Students come prepared with their own mid morning snack, water bottle and lunch. We have daily picnics on the MCAD campus or in the Mia courtyard (weather permitting).

Regarding the pandemic and ever-changing state of affairs: If camps are cancelled due to the pandemic, full refunds will be made.  If a student tests positive the week prior or during the week of camp, a full refund will be made (or prorated).  Mask wearing in the building, classroom and museum is required regardless of vaccination status.
