The Shape of Place




















Create art everyday using mediums that involve drawing, painting, embroidery and clay.
Create mixed media cityscapes, I heart Minnesota maps, clay land forms, and embroidered world maps. This camp involves two trips to the MIA as well as lunch picnics in the MCAD sculpture garden.

NEW! ADDITIONAL Summer Camp SESSION
Session 1b: June 20 - 24, 8:30 - 1
Drawing Whittier
Students will explore the neighborhood on foot with their large sketchpads while being introduced to and using a variety of drawing materials.  We will be visiting Glamdoll Donuts, taking a creative movement class with Marnie Bounds from Yess Yoga, and listen to live harp with Kylene Guse from Gyst.  This camp also involves two trips to the MIA as well as lunch picnics in the MCAD sculpture garden.

Session 2: July 18 - July 22, 8:30 - 1
The Art of Math
Create two and three dimensional work using clay, embroidery, printing and painting techniques. Study polygons, fractions, geometric solids and more. This camp involves two trips to the MIA as well as lunch picnics in the MCAD sculpture garden.

Session 3: August 15 - 19, 8:30 - 1
The Nature of Things
The natural world is our muse. The art of collecting, arranging and assembly of natural (and found) materials. Daily collection walks inspire our creations while incorporating a variety of art mediums. This camp involves two trips to the MIA as well as lunch picnics in the MCAD sculpture garden.

Tuesday and Thursday, August 23 + 25, 8:30 - 1, $65 each
